A trip to Belgium got me totally obsessed with Godiva's Chocolate Covered Strawberries! The sweet juicy huge strawberries covered with Godiva's finest dark chocolate.. it taste great yet sinful... dont forgot its never cheap to eat it..

they are selling it at €5.20 per 100 gram and you can get about 3 - 4 pcs of strawberries only..

so this is a 200gram pack.. i got 7 pcs of strawberries in it and it cost me €10.40

damn expensive right?! its about paying RM6.70 for each strawberry wtf..

but i can never resists it coz it taste so good till..

im getting another 100 gram pack after finish the first pack... but i got 4 pcs this time ^^

so im now back from my trip, but still missing the luxury snack so so much.. what to do? make it myself lo!!

we attended a chocolate workshop when touring Belgium, and learn some technique of making chocolate, so i decide to make this Chocolate Covered Strawberries by myself!

Remember i got this gold bunny chocolate during easter day? its milk chocolate, but i think it should be fine~ So i m gonna use this gold bunny to start my "project"! you can actually get any chocolate bar from groceries store, remember to get those chocolate bar contain only pure chocolate, without any nuts or almonds or grapes in it..

Huge sweet juicy strawberry is everywhere here in the groceries store, just get a nice box of strawberries will do, its cheap! only 1£ for one box.. and i got 2 boxes of these!

so there is something you need to prepare.. a plate with aluminum foil.. is for you to place the strawberries when its done, you cant place it straight on the plate coz its very hard to take it up when its dry, it will broke and wont looks nice anymore.. so this is very important..

To melt the chocolate, you cant staright heat it up on a pot.. coz the chocolate will burned easily.. the best way is like this - place the chocolate in a bowl, and put the bowl in boiling water~

while waiting for the chocolate to melt, take the time to wash the strawberries, and wipe it dry... its very important too coz you wont want your strawberries wet.. it will spoil the chocolate

in few minute, you'll find that the chocolate starting to melt..

while the water is boiling, you can see that the chocolate is slowly melting.. i get very excited every time seeing this ^^

in few minute more, the chocolate is all melted into liquid form.. ^^

One thing you need to know is, DO NOT let any water get mix into your melting chocolate! not a single drop of water.. coz the chocolate will become dry and hard and it wont melt into liquid anymore.. here is a photo of my previous failed attempt :( and i ended up throw all the chocolate and start over everything wtf..

so when the chocolate is ready, its time for the dipping work! remember to make sure that the strawberries is dry!
dip the strawberry one by one.. you may leave the bowl of chocolate in the hot water.. it will keep it warm so the chocolate wont turn hard so soon~ and you can take your time having fun dipping the chocolate ^^

then place the strawberry on the plate you prepare..

look nice?? just like what Godiva have!

while you are doing the job, your bf who is eating apple might come and steal some of your chocolate wtf.. let him take it, coz it taste nice too lol!

ok its done!! leave the strawberries aside to cool down, and a small tip that i learn from the chocolate master,

NEVER EVER put chocolate INTO the refrigerator!!

i think this is what we usually do when we bought some chocolate home, but we are not suppose to do that coz the humid will affect the taste and the looks and the structure of the chocolate == they say you can put it in a wine cellar if your want, but definitely not fridge! duh... like we got wine cellar at home ==

so no wine cellar? so just it at a cool dry place~

what to do with the remaining chocolate in your bowl?? this is what i do~ and give it to your bf, he will be very happy eating it ^^
i leave the strawberries cool down for few hours, leave it for longer time to make sure its completely harden..

and when its all dry up, this is what you get!

Nice!!!

so in love with my own creation!

its ready to served!
well ya, carefully take it out from the aluminum foil.. tear the foil from the bottom carefully and you will get a nice bottom! ofcoz without GODIVA wordings on it la..

and i think due to the different of chocolate temperature and type, i cant seem to be able to make a thick chocolate at the bottom part.. it turn out like this... a small hole there which looks not really good :( will try figure out how to avoid this next time..
SO~ a very simple way to create your own Chocolate Covered Strawberries!!

Hope you find it useful, and try to do it yourself! and use it as a gift for your love one ^^

Thanks for reading!
